The book brings together the remarkable photographs of Zolt\u00e1n K\u00e1rp\u00e1ti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The album features photographs taken by the photographer at the B\u00e1nk Jazz Festival between 2008 and 2011. The emotions conveyed by the book are perhaps best expressed in K\u00e1rp\u00e1ti Zolt\u00e1n\u2019s own words:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt suddenly begins\u2026 you watch, you listen, you lose yourself in it, and then something moves inside you, and you realize that your heart is already dancing. You have to move closer, become part of it, and there you are, carried away by the music. Some people close their eyes and suddenly they are far away, already flying. My eyes, however, open wider, searching out the little wonders, excitedly looking for the secret of how to capture and preserve the fleeting sounds and the rhythm. I have read that the lens of a camera does not lie. It is objective. I am no longer so sure. The photograph taken by the photographer standing beside me is completely different, even though we listened to the same music. Why shouldn\u2019t my picture be subjective, reflecting the way I experience it? These are my impressions. Jazz impressions.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the 9th Louis Armstrong Jazz Festival, held in B\u00e1nk, Zolt\u00e1n K\u00e1rp\u00e1ti was due to sign copies of his book at the restaurant of T\u00f3 Hotel on Saturday, June 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two-day event, featuring outstanding musicians from the world of jazz, also included several special programs alongside the presentation of the book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program included a photography workshop with photographer and artist J\u00e1nos Eifert, as well as a film screening held in memory of Joe Mur\u00e1nyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In connection with the Jazz Festival, the organizing Swing Jazz Culture Foundation also announced a photography competition dedicated to the world of jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The historical photography competition<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The attached 2012 poster announced the competition under the title <strong>\u201cJazz Fot\u00f3p\u00e1ly\u00e1zat\u201d (Jazz Photography Competition)<\/strong>. Its purpose was to draw attention to the values of jazz, the cultural, artistic and natural experiences associated with the B\u00e1nk Louis Armstrong Jazz Festival, and the relationship between music and nature, captured through the tools of photography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Photographs were accepted in three categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Jazz<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Louis Armstrong Jazz Festival<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Jazz Behind the Scenes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The poster stated that one prize would be awarded in each category, with each prize worth <strong>HUF 50,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>main prize<\/strong> was a <strong>three-day, two-night stay for two people at the T\u00f3 Wellness Hotel in B\u00e1nk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The poster directed applicants to the Swing Jazz Culture Foundation&#8217;s website for further information and the application form.
